Making Music Discovery

More Social

The 2021 Spotify D&AD brief challenged students to design a new feature that would make the Spotify listening experience more social.

During lockdown, many of my classmates and I felt intensely homesick. That feeling became the spark for our concept: a feature that lets users tap into Spotify from anywhere in the world, regardless of where they physically are.

The idea was rooted in a simple insight — music can reconnect people with places they miss. By breaking free from geo-locked algorithms, we imagined a way for people to rediscover music through shared culture, geography, and memory.
