How can we give Gen Z a break, one KitKat at a time?
For Gen Z, streaming has become the new self-care ritual. But while KitKat champions “taking a break,” the brand wasn’t present in the digital spaces where those breaks actually happen.
Spoilers, on the other hand, are unavoidable.
That frustration became our opportunity.
We designed a browser plug-in that detects spoilers online and replaces them with playful KitKat interactions, turning interruptions into moments of relief. When clicked, these moments lead users directly to a commerce page to purchase KitKats.
I led the UX for the plug-in experience, defining user flows, interaction patterns, and the engagement model while collaborating closely with creative and engineering teams in two rapid sprints to bring the concept to life.
