Bau Nyale
Us interns, over at AGNI Studios ,was tasked to make our own brief rooted in Indonesia’s folklore culture as an effort in teamwork and using our own heritage as a double edged sword.
Bau Nyale is traditional Lombok Festival that is held annually in celebration of the story “Putri Mandalika” (check the story we choose here). Though eating worms might not seem like Sunday roast material, we wanted to challenge that exact status quo for not only tourists, but locals as well as this was the main event of the festival. It was really important for us that the visual language stayed fresh to its traditions while giving it a contemporary edge.
