This was part of the D&AD Young Blood 2019 brief, and as a team, we made the decision to tackle Spotify's brief, which aimed to address how to enhance Spotify's social aspect. During the period of lockdown, we started to miss home a lot, prompting us to explore ways to connect with Spotify's diverse international audience, consisting of individuals with unique backgrounds and personalities. Our goal was to propose two innovative features, namely MAPS and CHATS, as a means to enrich the Spotify experience for users.
As we delved deeper into this project, we realized that Spotify had an incredible opportunity to create a sense of community among its users.

With MAPS, we envisioned a feature that would allow people to explore the music preferences of others in their geographical area. It would not only help users discover new artists and genres but also foster connections with others who shared similar musical tastes. This would give Spotify a truly global and interconnected feel, bridging the gap between people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Additionally, we proposed the introduction of CHATS, a feature that would enable users to engage in real-time conversations with fellow music enthusiasts. This would provide a platform for users to discuss their favorite songs, albums, and playlists, creating a virtual space where music lovers could connect on a deeper level. By leveraging Spotify's existing user base, we believed that CHATS could revolutionize the way people communicate and bond over music, transcending the limitations of physical distance.

Our team worked tirelessly to develop these concepts, ensuring that they aligned with Spotify's vision and mission. By embracing innovation and thinking outside the box, we strived to create a social aspect that aligned with Spotify's global reputation as a platform that celebrates diversity and the power of music.
