The Inspiration

For Gen Z, streaming and watching movies is their way of taking a break. But despite being a brand built around breaks, KitKat has yet to become a part of their movie-watching routine.

Movie spoilers are everywhere and hard to avoid. Stumbling upon them while browsing the internet can be incredibly frustrating. What if KitKat could give young audiences a break from spoilers?

The solution?

KitKat Breaks 

How? Well...

A browser plug-in that blocks all keywords related to a movie you want to avoid spoilers for—covering them with KitKat bars as you browse the internet.
A sweet break from unwanted movie spoilers.

This project underscored the power of designing within a specific cultural context. By deeply understanding Gen Z's movie-watching habits and their frustration with spoilers, we were able to create a solution that felt both relevant and genuinely helpful.

Key takeaways:

  • This project offered a unique advantage: designing for an audience I inherently understand.Being Gen Z myself, I could tap into those insights organically, which sped up the process.

  • The synergy we achieved across CX, BX and tech was very efficient, it unlocked us to new heights as we take this project on the road to Cannes 2025.  By fostering a culture of open communication and rapid iteration, we were able to move from concept to award-winning plugin in record time
